Touchscreen application for a trade fair in Dubai (EN/AR): pick two stations on the Red Line and Green Line, and the app shows the line, stops, change and travel time to the second.
The «Timesaver» is a touchscreen application for Dubai Metro, shown at a trade fair in Dubai in late December 2006. Visitors pick one station each in the «From» and «To» columns on the Red Line or the Green Line. After «GO» the buttons glide away and the app shows which line to take, how many stops there are, whether a change is needed and how long the ride takes, to the second. Stations, running and dwell times and all texts are loaded from XML files.
A button switches to Arabic. Because Flash did not render Arabic script joined on the machines on site, all Arabic station names and sentences were integrated as graphics at the last minute, including the Arabic plural rules for minutes and seconds. The application was also delivered as a Windows program.
Built in ActionScript 2 in December 2006 for the agency plenum stoll & fischbach. It was the first project for this agency and the start of a collaboration that lasted until 2014, including the AXOR Composer and the Hansgrohe Hall of Fame.
